Ezpeleta on MotoGP™ pre-season

  • Written by  news RSS on motogp.com - The Official MotoGP Website

He appreciated the distinction as “an award for the entire company after 21 years. We are very grateful that we have been awarded this trophy and I think we should regard it as property of the people working in Dorna.”

Speaking about the first MotoGP™ test that was held in Sepang last week he said: “The theoretical four at the front, the factory Yamahas and Hondas, both have a similar level, which is something that was expected, and in this sense it seems that the Championship will be fun, though I think later more will join the chase."

He also commented on the Magneti Marelli ECUs and their debut with the CRTs: “The indications are that things are going very well and that the teams are happy with it. The CRTs have been already much closer to the factory bikes than they were last year, which is quite difficult for them."

And as for Marc Márquez’s grand entrance and Valentino Rossi’s re-emergence Ezpeleta concluded: "Well, you know, Márquez is not going to find out now. Testing is one thing, racing is another. But I think he has lived up to what was expected of him. As for Valentino, I had no doubts. Valentino was not going to keep racing if he did not believe he could continue to do well.”
