Championship leader Lowry on track at Oulton Park

MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship leader Ian Lowry and Padgetts Honda were back on track at Oulton Park today (Friday) testing ahead of next weekend's (5/6/7 May) Bank Holiday triple header event at the dramatic Cheshire circuit.
Lowry heads the overall standings by just two points from Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes and was able to complete laps at the track in mixed conditions. The Ulsterman believes that whilst the team still need some further changes during free practice next weekend they are already in a stronger position ahead of the next three races in the championship chase.
Lowry said: "It has been a mixed bag today really and this morning was wet but after lunch it did dry out so we had a bit of both worlds. We don't have the complete base setting we need for Oulton Park yet but today we were definitely heading in the right direction. It has been very beneficial for us and we have made some good progress. The fact that we are leading the championship doesn't mean I will approach the weekend any differently and we know that now we are in the top six we need to stay there ready for the Showdown later in the year. We have a good package with the Padgetts Honda and I am looking forward to getting back out again next weekend in the three races."
